Prior Lake–Savage Area Schools Names New Principal for Five Hawks Elementary

Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools is pleased to announce the selection of Lisa Manders as the next principal of Five Hawks Elementary, pending approval by the School Board. Manders will succeed Katy Schuerman, who is retiring at the end of the 2025–26 school year.

Manders currently serves as the interim principal of WestWood Elementary, a role she has held since 2024. She began her career in Prior Lake–Savage Area Schools as a teacher at WestWood and has since served in a variety of leadership roles, including peer coach, district Q-Comp coordinator, and dean of students. She also previously served as an elementary principal in neighboring Tri-City United Public Schools.

“We are confident that Lisa will bring strong leadership, dedication, and a continued commitment to student success in her new role at Five Hawks,” said Superintendent Michael Thomas. “Her experience and deep connection to our district make her well positioned to lead the Five Hawks community.”

Pending School Board approval, Manders will officially assume her role as principal on July 1, 2026.
