PLHS Unified Basketball Team Headed to State

PLHS Unified Basketball Team Headed to State

The Prior Lake High School Unified Basketball team is state bound following an outstanding performance at the Regional Tournament held at Shakopee High School.

In its first year as a Unified program, the PLHS team competed in the B Division, winning all four games and earning first place through pool play. Their success advances them to the Unified Basketball State Tournament at the Target Center on February 12, with game times to be announced.

Unified Basketball brings together students with and without disabilities, promoting teamwork, inclusion, and sportsmanship. During games, teams compete with three athletes and two partners on the court at all times.

PLHS also fielded a team in the C Division, which emphasizes learning, growth, and participation. While the C Division does not advance to a state tournament, students gained valuable experience and demonstrated strong commitment and enthusiasm.

The district congratulates all student-athletes, coaches, and managers on a historic season and wishes the team the best as they compete at the state level.
