PLHS Teacher Matthew Helm Named VFW Department of Minnesota State High School Teacher of the Year
Prior Lake High School Social Studies teacher, Matthew Helm, has been named the VFW Department of Minnesota State High School Teacher of the Year (grades 9-12)!
This prestigious recognition began with Matt being nominated by members of the Prior Lake VFW Post 6208. He was first selected as their Post Teacher of the Year, then advanced to be named the 9-12 Teacher of the Year for the 2nd District, competing against nominees from 31 other posts. Finally, Matt’s exceptional dedication and leadership earned him the top honor at the state level!
Matt’s devotion to his students, our PLSAS community, and the values he instills in his classroom makes him truly deserving of this recognition. We couldn’t be prouder to have him as part of the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools family.
Matt will be celebrated at the VFW Mid-Winter Banquet on Saturday, January 11.
