Living our Mission with Laker Pride

Academic Paraeducators Being highlighted during a School Board Meeting

During the March 9 Laker Pride portion of the School Board meeting, Bridges Area Learning Center staff and students were able to speak about their project based learning model.

Since 2020, Bridges Area Learning Center has embraced a project-based learning model, where students engage in meaningful, real-world learning experiences. When learning is relevant and authentic, students are able to see themselves in their curriculum—leading to stronger engagement and deeper learning.

Assistant Principal Dave Brown and Bridges staff member, Alexius Serefeas spoke about this work, and Bridges students Sydney and Anastasia shared their own project-based learning experiences with the Board, showcasing the powerful impact it has had on their education.

Thank you to the Bridges team and students for highlighting the incredible learning happening in Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools!

Academic Paraeducators Being highlighted during a School Board Meeting

The Laker Pride portion of the February 9 School Board meeting highlighted the incredible impact of Academic Paraeducators in our district.

Glendale Elementary Principal Jennifer Molitor and a Academic Paraeducator Charline Lanzenby shared how this role is making a difference for students through real-time, in-class support grounded in academic achievement data. By collaborating closely with teachers, building strong relationships, and using thoughtful questioning to promote reasoning and learning, they help ensure students receive targeted support during grade-level instruction.

This work is strengthening mathematical confidence, accelerating growth, and advancing equity—while maintaining high expectations and creating more opportunities for every student to succeed.
