Living our Mission with Laker Pride

Prior Lake High School senior Obiama Osuji receives 2026 MSBA Robert E. Meeks Student School Board Member Scholarship

Prior Lake High School student Obioma Osuji, the 2025–26 Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools (PLSAS) Student School Board Representative, has been named one of three recipients of the 2026 Robert E. Meeks Student School Board Member Scholarship from the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA).

The $3,000 scholarship was presented during the May 4 PLSAS School Board meeting by MSBA Executive Director Kirk Schneidawind and MSBA President Kristi Peterson. Osuji is the first Prior Lake High School student to receive this honor.

Selected from nearly 60 applicants statewide, Osuji was recognized for his strong academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to elevating student voice. He maintains a 3.878 GPA while participating in the PSEO program at Normandale Community College and has held leadership roles including Student Council President and National Honor Society Chair.

In his role on the school board, Osuji has helped bring forward student perspectives through initiatives like student-led surveys and ongoing engagement with peers. His efforts reflect a commitment to ensuring decisions are made with students, not just for them.

PLSAS congratulates Obioma on this outstanding achievement and thanks him for his leadership and service.
