Our mission is to educate all learners to reach their full potential as contributing and productive members of our ever-changing global community.

The Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools' Child Nutrition Department provides all students with well-balanced, nutritious, high quality, meal options that promote good physical and mental development.

Child Nutrition Services manages the cafeterias at all PLSAS elementary schools, middle schools and high school, along with the Lake House Café coffee shop at PLHS.

Child Nutrition Services focuses on local foods and cleaner labels. We provide free-range, local turkey products from Ferndale Farms in Cannon Falls; produce from Wozupi Gardens in Shakopee; free-range grass-fed beef franks from Thousand Hills Cattle Company in Cannon Falls; and seasonal apples from Thompson’s Hillcrest Orchard in Elko, along with many other local produce items that are grown in Minnesota.

Feeding students healthy meals plays a role in helping them reach their full potential. In addition to fueling healthy bodies, our staff host educational events in our cafeterias throughout the year to educate students about where their food comes from and to create lifelong healthy eating habits.

Prior Lake High School will remain off the National School Meals Program, continuing to allow us greater flexibility in providing healthy, delicious meals and snacks that meet the needs and expectations of students, parents and staff.
