Committees

Purpose: To assist the Prior Lake-Savage Area School District in financial analysis, long-range financial planning and to provide valuable input as a community member. The purposes of the committee are as follows: 1. To understand school district finances in order to properly evaluate and make recommendations to district administration. 2. To monitor Strategic Direction: Continue fiscal accountability through operational excellence and the alignment of human, financial and physical resources to district goals. 3. To review, study, and make recommendations regarding specific financial issues as identified by the school board or district administration.

Finance Advisory Committee Page

Purpose: To provide guidance and recommendations to the School District on matters related to policies. Board policies act as guidelines for the internal procedures of the district. To ensure alignment with legal requirements, the committee stays abreast of local, state and federal laws and regulations to determine and apply implications for district policy development and revisions. The committee works closely with the appropriate staff to draft new or refine current policies, processes and protocols, that are then brought to the board for formal action. PAC members help facilitate communication between the School District and stakeholders. All district policies should be reviewed over a three year period (Policy 208).

Purpose: To provide guidance and feedback to the school district on matters related to teaching and learning. To ensure alignment with current educational practices, the committee stays abreast of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations related to curriculum requirements and programming opportunities to determine and apply implications for district development and revisions. The committee works closely with the appropriate staff to refine current practices and develop new practices where appropriate, that are then brought to the board for formal action. TLAC members help facilitate communication between the school district and stakeholders.
