We're Listening

Every other year, PLSAS conducts a residential survey to gauge community satisfaction levels. This year, one of the questions asked residents their opinions on a property tax increase for specific purposes. Respondents were presented with nine potential uses for new funding, and at least 62% of respondents supported each of these potential uses.

Last school year we developed a new Strategic Plan that defines the district's vision for success and aligns our values and commitments to measurable outcomes. A big part of this process included community input. We held several community engagement meetings to gather input. Hundreds of comments were gathered, reviewed and synthesized into overarching themes.

Strategic Plan Feedback
Community feedback advocates for a comprehensive approach to education that balances academic rigor with personalized support and real-world experiences to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

General themes that emerged from Strategic Plan Community Meetings

  • Academic achievement
  • Critical thinking skills

  • Career readiness pathways

  • Programming to meet needs of all learners

  • Character development

We learned from our stakeholder engagement meetings that many in our community see the value in continuing to enhance program opportunities that personalize education for each student.
