Early Entrance & Acceleration
Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools follows Minnesota Statute §120B.15, which allows districts to offer academic acceleration and early entrance to kindergarten based on readiness and multiple data points.
Early Entrance to Kindergarten
(Policy 509.1)
Families may apply for early entrance if their child demonstrates advanced development and readiness for kindergarten. A team reviews applications using developmental assessments and family input to determine readiness and support transitions.

Acceleration Policy
(Policy 513)
Students who demonstrate advanced readiness in one or more subjects may be considered for acceleration. Decisions are based on classroom data, academic performance, and teacher and family input to ensure a strong match between the student’s needs and the learning environment.
