Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)

ECSE is designed for students who need additional developmental and educational assistance. Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) includes Assessment, Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education.

Communication & Interaction Disorders (CID)

CID is a Setting III program tailored to meet the needs of students on with social, communication, and interaction disorders. Students in this program typically require services in the special education setting for more than 60% of the school day.

Program placement is an individualized education plan team decision based on student needs and supported by the current evaluation and intervention results.

Location
District-wide program; currently located at Hamilton Ridge (K-5), Twin Oaks Middle School (6-8), and Prior Lake High School (9-12).

Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD)

The program is designed for students who need a significant amount of structure, supervision, and individualized instruction in order to make progress in their learning. Social skills instruction is presented daily and is embedded in the structure of the day and reinforced in group. Along with teaching academic and interpersonal skills, there is a strong emphasis on teaching the students to recognize the need for and implementing coping strategies.

Program placement is an individualized education plan team decision based on student needs and supported by the current evaluation and intervention results.

District-wide program; currently located at Five Hawks (K-5), Hidden Oaks Middle School (6-8), and Prior Lake High School (9-12).

Life Skills

Life Skills Program is a Setting III program tailored to meet the needs of students with developmental cognitive dishabilles. The program offers a functional curriculum designed to prepare students to be as independent as possible and focuses on skill development in the following areas: functional academics, daily/independent living skills, social and interpersonal skills, functional communication, and recreation/leisure skills.

Program placement is an individualized education plan team decision based on student needs and supported by the current evaluation and intervention results.

District-wide program; currently located at Glendale (K-5), Redtail Ridge (K-5), Twin Oaks Middle School (6-8), and Prior Lake High School (9-12).
