Child Nutrition Services
The Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools' Child Nutrition Department provides all students with well-balanced, nutritious, high quality, meal options that promote good physical and mental development.
Child Nutrition Services manages the cafeterias at all PLSAS elementary schools, middle schools and high school, along with the Lake House Café coffee shop at Prior Lake High School.
Child Nutrition Services focuses on serving our students local, nutritious, whole foods. We also provide opportunities for students to learn in the lunchroom by offering samples of new food items with our Try It Tuesday weekly event, hosting a "Meet the Farmer" series with our local partner farmers, offering culturally significant foods that represent our students and many more opportunities for experiential learning, where students can explore new flavors, textures and high-quality foods.
Feeding students healthy meals plays a role in helping them reach their full potential. In addition to fueling healthy bodies, our staff host educational events in our cafeterias throughout the year to educate students about where their food comes from and to create lifelong healthy eating habits.
Prior Lake High School will remain off the National School Meals Program, continuing to allow us greater flexibility in providing healthy, delicious meals and snacks that meet the needs and expectations of students, parents and staff.

2024-2025 School Meals
All-day pre-k, grades K-8, and Bridges Area Learning Center
Beginning in the 2023-24 school year, all students in all-day pre-K, grades K-8 and Bridges Area Learning Center in our district will receive breakfast and lunch on school days at no cost. No application is needed. This includes a healthy meal for breakfast and a complete meal for lunch - including a fruit and vegetable. If a student wants something extra - like another entree or a bottle of water, they’ll need to pay for those items. Even with this change, we are still encouraging families who may have applied for free and reduced-price meals to continue to do so. Submitting an application helps benefit families with much more than just meals. To apply, complete the Application for Educational Benefits in the SchoolCafé app or by clicking the Application for Benefits button below. A new application must be submitted each year. All families are strongly encouraged to complete an application for their household.
Grades 9-12 Prior Lake High School
Prior Lake High School is not on the National School Meal Program. As a result, school meals are priced as follows, below. Free or Reduced-Price Meal applications are available and families are encouraged to apply. To apply, complete the Application for Educational Benefits in the SchoolCafé app or our website or ask for one at your child’s school. Applications must be filled out for each school year the assistance is needed. For questions, please call Bonnie Ohm, Administrative Assistant to Child Nutrition Services, at 952-226-0009.
